Faleena Hopkins

Having first trained at American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, Faleena moved to Los Angeles and worked as an actress while performing stand-up comedy regularly at The Improv and Comedy Store. She wrote and performed a one-woman show called "Devil's Mercy" acclaimed by both LA Weekly and Dramalogue, and was singled out by Variety, Los Angeles Times, and Hollywood Reporter for her lead role in the feature film "Close Call." In 2004 she became a professional fashion photographer, shooting NYC Fashion Weeks with editorial spreads published in high-end fashion magazines. She retired from photography after ten years, due to burnout, end of 2014. However, In 2017 revisited it to shoot her own covers for her hit book series, interviewing the models in character for her fans - possibly a first for an author to do this. In 2013 Faleena published her first novel and in June 2016 launched the first novel in what would become a national bestselling series on Amazon with over half-a-million sold, earning the Kindle Unlimited All-Star badge for fifteen months and counting. "Cocker Brothers, The Cocky Series" is a sexy romcom book series about love, family, loyalty, with humor to spare. Faleena is self-published, and has never submitted a book to a publisher. Her indie skills will be explored more with her first feature film based on an original screenplay Faleena wrote, and will direct and act in. Filming took place in the Summer 2018. Learn more about the film here. Coming soon!
